The overview
Managed disaster recovery options for VMware and Nutanix, with runbooks, guided testing, and expert support.
VMware Push Button DR, On Demand, and Nutanix recovery have different operating and commercial terms. Scope each claim to the proposed product.
Workload support
Provider-documented
Expedient has separate VMware and Nutanix AHV recovery offerings. Its VMware options reference Zerto, VMware and Cohesity technologies; the Nutanix offering uses native Nutanix recovery. [1] [2]
Push Button DR documentation lists Windows/Linux guests, vSphere, and databases including SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL. It excludes Hyper-V for that service; this is not a statement about every Expedient offering. [3]
Recovery locations
Provider-documented
The DR page advertises 15 failover locations. Listed US markets include Baltimore, Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, Memphis, Milwaukee, Denver and Phoenix. Multiple facilities can be in one market. [4]
Testing scope
Provider-documented
Push Button DR supports isolated bubble tests and live-failover variants. Bubble tests keep production available but lack internet and inter-VLAN connectivity. Initial testing uses agreed acceptance criteria; later assisted tests need advance scheduling. [5]
For Nutanix, test failover starts recovery copies in an isolated VPC, with Expedient conducting or assisting on request. Planned live failover requires a maintenance window and failback. [6]
Cost details
Provider-documented
Properly scheduled traditional Push Button DR tests have no additional charge. On Demand tests incur daily RAM, compute, and VMware-license utilization charges; test labor is not charged. [5]
The product comparison distinguishes dedicated guaranteed resources from shared On Demand resources. No standard numeric DRaaS rate was verified in the reviewed sources. [4]
